SAFERSOX anti-tick and mosquito repellent socks use a biodegradable active ingredient designed to repel mosquitoes and ticks without killing them. The active ingredient EBAAP (ethyl butylacetylaminopropionate), which has been used in insect repellents for over 50 years, is effective up to a distance of 40 cm. It meets all the requirements of the Biocidal Products Regulation, is safe for humans and the environment, and can be used by pregnant women and babies from 6 months of age, in line with WHO recommendations.

The Anti-Tick & Mosquito Repellent Socks in Beige are treated with a biocidal product. The active ingredient contained is EBAAP (ethyl butylacetylaminopropionate).

EBAAP is a German insect repellent that was developed by Merck over 40 years ago. Our partner, the Portuguese nanotechnology company Smart Inovation, has used it to develop the product SI Repel Mosquito, which permanently anchors EBAAP in textiles, thus providing long-lasting protection.

The active ingredient is applied directly to the fibres of the socks during the manufacturing process. This method ensures that the active ingredient penetrates deep into the textiles and remains active even after many washes, without losing its protective effect.
